THIS is the reason my kids won't go to a public school. I will home school them before I will send them to a public school!
The high school I graduated from {Kenowa Hills High School, in Grand Rapids, MI} has been all over the news as of yesterday! The class of 2012 decided they wanted to go out with a bang... They decided to get as many students as they could to ride their bikes to school with their senior shirts on. They thought ahead about traffic and called the POLICE DEPARTMENT and THE MAYOR {who showed up with donuts before the ride!!} and asked for help. Once they got to school {again, escorted by the POLICE AND MAYOR} they were told to get into the auditorium, where they were then chewed out by the principal for not notifying her that they were riding their bikes to school {really!?} and were then told to LEAVE {on the bikes they rode in on?!}and told that they would not be allowed to participate in the Senior Walk or Graduation!
The reason? Safety! Really principal Pennington? Safety? Having a police escort wasn't safe enough for them? Telling you would have made it somehow safer?
What I think is the best part is one of our local radio personalities decided to show up {here's their radio coverage} at the school board meeting {as did lots of parents and students...so many in fact that they had to move to a bigger location}...But Gravy decided to show up with a special present just for Principal Pennington...a bike! He said that maybe she was just upset because she didn't have a bike so he got a local bike company to give her a brand new bike....with a bell for safety!!! haha, see:
The bike part comes in at 47 seconds and ends at 2:21...the rest of the 10 minute video is students and parents talking to the school board.
I think more than anything, I am most outraged by the way that the principal was talking to the students right after the ride. One of the students was smart enough to pull out her phone and tape her, and she screaming at them and telling them to "hurry up and get their butts home"...not even telling them WHY they were being sent home either. I wish I could find the video recording, but I haven't been able to so far.
So what is your opinion? Should the students have gotten in trouble?
Linking up with We Want To Know with the awesome co-hosts Mamarazzi and Crazymama!!
Today Crazymama is asking the questions and she wants to know all about your friends!
{1}I have found myself jealous/envious of this friend because... {until recently} I was jealous of A because to me it felt like she had everything together and never had one of those days...{you know, the ones where everything is going wrong and you feel like you're losing it?} Recently she called me when she was having one of those days...so I realized she's not perfect...still jealous that she can decorate a cake like you would not believe though!
{2}I admire this one for her _________ (insert admirable quality) and tell us about them. I really admire my friend Farrah for her ability to keep things together even though she has three young kids!! Plus she's brave enough to try the things I wasn't brave enough to try {ie homeschooling, cloth diapering, etc} {3}I really love this blog friend because... She's awesome! She's Batman and I'm Robin!
Hahaha, no really though...her posts always make me smile, and whenever she posts a DIY post...it makes me want to redo something in my house or be more crafty. In reality though, I think I'd be better off paying her to make all the signs I want because I won't be able to make them look as cute as she does!
{4}I was stuck on a desert island I would want to be with this friend... hmmm...I guess either A and/or Farrah... I could see myself stuck with either of them and having lots of fun! Even if our kids were with us! {5}I think the best qualities in a friend are... I'm really not that picky, butdef. someone who is a good listener because I like to vent a lot {just ask Farrah...she's my go to person!}; someone who is kind, caring and fun too!

My Thoughts: I was so excited to try out Moppy! I have been searching for a floor cleaner that works well, so I was asked to try this at the perfect time! I love that you can use it on multiple surfaces! We have tile floors in our house.
To use Moppy all you do is take out one of the four packets, drop it in your mop bucket it...watch it dissolve and bubble for about 10 seconds and your good to go! I LOVED the smell of it! It wasn't too over powering either!
I am not going to lie, when I was reading the directions I was a little unsure that one small packet would keep MY floors {especially the bathroom, which I had been mopping 2x/day bc of the smell!} smelling nice, but it has!!! I am pretty shocked! I think it's cool that if you don't use a mop and bucket like I do, you can still use Moppy!!
If you're interested in Moppy {or any other Natural House products} head on over to their website!! You can also find Natural House on facebook, and twitter!

I confess...I have been gardening this week, instead of cleaning the house.
I confess...I forgot how much I love gardening! My patio area is looking so nice now!! Just have to get Husband to get the stupid hot tub out of there and I'll be one happy mama!
I confess...I have lots of cleaning to do today people! LOTS! I don't want to....but Husband will be home today so I have to!
I confess...I have also been putting off baking two cakes and a million cupcakes for my sil's baby shower...which is TOMORROW! So on top of cleaning all day... I also have to bake...and decorate!
I confess...I think it's going to be a late night...and a LONG weekend!
I confess...the boys surprised me yesterday and gave me a new GPS for mothers day!! I was very happy! Now they make me turn it on when we get in the car...even if I know where I am going, lol

Have you ever watch The Nate Berkus Show? Well I've been catching his show here and there lately, and I am in love! He gives some awesome tips on fashion, decorating and easy how-to's! Whenever I watch his show it makes me want to do things to our house!!
On one of his shows they took a tour through a viewers pantry and I was jealous! First of the fact that she even HAS a pantry {I don't}, but also of how nice it was! {mine wouldn't be if I had one!}. I loved her labeling idea though so I decided to try it out!
Chalkboard Labels
You will need...
Jars, boxes, whatever you want to label
1 can/bottle of chalkboard paint
Paint brush {I used the sponge kind}
First you're going to have to figure out how you want your label to look. You can either draw it out, or just wing it. {I didn't draw it out}
Next you're going to want to make sure you jar is clear of all labels.
Now your ready to paint! Paint on how you want your label to look, let dry for 1 hour. Apply 2nd layer if needed. {most of mine didn't need a full 2nd layer, just touch ups}
You can even do the tops to the jars with chalkboard paint too!
Your kids might like your newly awesome labeled jars..so much that they'll think it's fun to go around and re-label your jars!
So maybe you'll think it'd be cool to paint a chalk board on their wall so they'll stop messing with your jars. {I know I did}
It won't work though...it might just make them angry instead {he screamed!}
Linking up {kinda late, sorry!} with Mamarazzi and Crazymama's We Want to Know Wednesday! Be sure to check out their posts as well =)
Today's questions are all about Blogging!!! Which is awesome because I have been thinking about blogging a lot lately... {even if I haven't actually BEEN doing it!}
1. Describe your blog... This is actually what I have been thinking about a lot lately...what kind of blogger am I? Originally this was strictly a photo journal blog since I have had a private blog..then I found myself a SAHM again and kind of alone. So I threw myself into the blogging world! For a while it was kind of everything...linky's, giveaways, advice, crafts etc...now, I don't know what it is, haha. I suppose it's a little of everything...but I don't know that I like that.... {<---see....lots on my mind!}
2. What 3 things do you love about blogging...
I love the friendships I have made so far!
I love having a place I can come to get things "off my chest"
I love making new friends and reading new blogs! It's so fun to see everyone's different styles reflected in their own personal space. I love being able to be a part of it!
3. What 3 things do you dislike about blogging...
I dislike that sometimes it's hard to fit in with bloggers who already have their "group" established
I dislike when I spend time going to new{ish} blogs and read their pages and leave nice comments and never hear anything back at all {and yes mamarazzi, I DO have e-mails turned on!!!}
I dislike how much time I haven't had lately to blog!! That's probably why I have been thinking about it so much...but after this week things should calm down for me!
4. What 3 things do you wish other bloggers would do? Any Tips?...
I really wish more bloggers would take the time to visit people who take the time to leave love on their site. Me and my friend {who also blogs} were talking about this just the other day. I feel that I have been so lucky to have found the blogs people that I have...because almost always when I leave a comment on their page, they are responding by e-mail or stopping by and giving me some love too. But I know of others who complain that they will spend their time leaving nice comments on pages and never hear anything back!
{I'm with Mamarazzi on this one} I really wish more bloggers would ditch the word verification. Blogger makes it so hard to read {ok OR my eyes are bad!}, I usually have to try like three times before I get it! It's so frustrating!!
I really wish...ya got me...I really can't think of another one right now!!
5. I know we all have lots of blogs we read, but what are 3 blogs you never miss...
I really do have a lot that I MUST read...see:
I bookmark every time I come to a site that I think "I NEED to come back to this one"...that way I have kind of a reading list right in my book marks =)
Ground the hamburg meat. Drain and pour in can of Sloppy Joe mix, let simmer on low for about 5 minutes stirring occasionally.
Flatten and stretch each biscuit
Press biscuits into sprayed muffin pan, making individual cups.
Spoon 1 tbsp of sloppy joe mixture into each biscuit cup.
Bake for 10 minutes {at 375}
Sprinkle shredded cheese over top of each cup and cook for additional 3 minutes
These are also good with BBQ sauce instead of sloppy joe mix! Just substitute can of sloppy joe mix for 1/2 cup of bbq sauce! Goes great with broccoli or fruit salad...or all by themselves!
