Bic Soleil Savvy Disposable Razor w/ Refill Cartidges #Review #imabzzagent

It's summer time and you know what that means right?

If you guessed time to start shaving again, you would be right, haha!!  {I actually do shave year round to help my skin stay moisturized in the winter}

I was recently sent a BZZkit to try the new BIC Soleil Savvy!

Every BIC Soleil Savvy package contains one disposable handle and four refillable cartridges.  The razor's handle has a really nice rubber grip!  Each blade cartridge features a triple blade head, lubricating strips with Vitamin E and a pivoting head that makes for a super close shave!

What makes the soleil savvy a little different is that the handle is actually disposable, so once you use your 4 cartridges, you dispose of the handle {because let's face it, then tend to wear out anyways!} and buy a new kit!  This makes for less garbage than your traditional razor, and less cost than your refillable ones!
Before trying the Soleil Savvy, I was actually using the BIC Soleil original, which is a disposable razor that comes in a package of four.  I thought I was getting a pretty good shave with them...but after trying the Savvy...I've changed my mind!!  Even Husband commented on smooth my legs were a couple days after shaving!

No matter what type of razor you are using, there are some general tips that you should remember when shaving!

Shave at night
Shaving removes dead skin cells and the superficial layer of skin.  While it is healthy, it can reduce your skins defenses for at least a couple of hours.  If you shave at night, it will give your skin time to recover.

Shave Clean Skin
To help prevent infection and bumps, make sure your skin is perfectly clean before you shave.  Apply hot water beforehand or shave after showering.  Warm humidity increases the skins elasticity and softens your hair, making it easier to shave.

Apply shaving cream or gel
Always use shaving cream/gel with aloe vera when shaving, it's gentler on your skin than regular soap and can actually help lift hair.  Lather the cream/gel then leave it on for a couple minutes prior to shaving.  Once your hair is softened, the razor will actually glide more easily over your skin!

Always use a sharp blade
Change your blades regularly, especially if you have sensitive skin.  On sensitive areas like your bikini line and underarms, shaving with a dull blade can result in red spots.

The BIC Soleil Savvy is available at grocery stores, drug stores and mass retailers {like Walmart}.  Suggested retail price is $7.49.

I confess...

Photobucket

I confess... sometimes Husband really knows how to push my buttons...and I really don't like it!  I mentioned recently that I finally came up with the next tattoo I want to get.  I was so excited about it because it actually had some meaning to me.  It's nothing big or fancy, but I made it and I like it... but he threw a fit saying he didn't want me to get another one.  One thing he should have learned by now is you can't tell me not to do something, or that you don't want me to, because I will want to do it that much more.  Childish I know...but that's me.

I confess...I think what makes me so mad about him not wanting me to get it is because before we were even dating we talked a lot about things we like in our "future spouse" and all the usual dating conversations.  One thing he never mentioned was not liking a girl with too many tattoos.  I love tattoos.  I don't want them all over my body or anything...I would probably only get one or two more, and due to me working in professional type environments, I make sure they aren't very visible.

I confess...I really want to just go get it anyways...but I know that would make him mad.

I confess...these kids were driving me nuts today!  I didn't have to work, and they are still trying to figure out/adjust to my schedule, so they were all over the place.  Didn't help that it was hot and we couldn't do much.

I confess...I'm sick of cleaning and give up for the day.

Cooking With Choley: Mini Corndogs

Being a working mom can be tough!  Sometimes I get home from working and really don't feel like cooking! I don't like feeding my family what I call "quickie" meals... like prepackaged corn dogs or canned spaghetti o's, but sometimes it would just be so nice to warm something up and be done...especially when it's 100* outside!

Today I was shopping and had a package of mini corn dogs in my hand and I just couldn't put them in the cart!  So I came up with my own idea, right there in the store!

Mini Corndogs

1 pkg Corn Muffin Mix
1 egg
1/3cup Milk
1 pkg mini hot dogs or hot dogs cut in bite size pieces

Prepare corn muffin mix.  Let sit for 3-4 four minutes.

Spray muffin pan, or use paper lines {*note muffins might stick to the paper liners!} add muffin mix to prepared muffin pan.

Submerge bite size hot dog into each cup before baking.

Bake at 400* for 15 minutes or until golden brown.  Let muffins cool before serving.

These little things were such a great hit with my boys!  And they would be great to freeze and just pull out as needed!  I really think they would also be good with cheese in them!

Lots to smile about this week!
Photobucket

I am happy...because I started my new job Monday, and I love it!  I can just tell that I am going to be so happy there!

I am happy...because I got to spend a relaxing weekend at the lake, kid free I might add, with just Husband and our friends!

I am happy.... because we had a little fishing competition this weekend, boys vs. girls, and the girls one!  We blew the boys out of the water, catching 21 fish {between the two of us} to their 4!!! Oh yeah!

I am happy... because my boys are adjusting quite well to me going back to work...maybe too well?  They cry when I come to pick them up!!

I know I haven't been around much lately, promise to be back with regular updates and lots of new stuff!!!  Even have an awesome review coming soon!!

My Happy List!

Photobucket

I am happy because my internet is finally working again! woo hoo!!  Only been down for a month!

I am happy to announce that I have decided to take a job.  I have been so torn over this because I love being a stay at home mom and taking care of my boys, but I also felt like things were lacking.  Although I planned on staying home through the summer, an awesome opportunity presented itself and I couldn't pass it up!  Hoping I am doing the right thing here...

I am happy that I have awesome family that supports me when I need it!

I am just all around happy!

Busy Busy Busy!

School is finally over!  Brother is now a first grader! ahhh!  I love his school so much!  I had been searching around for the right work book/sheets for him to transition into first grade... and low and behold, his school sent home one!!  It's perfect!  It works on everything that he has learned in K and things he will start to work on in first grade!

We will also be using K5 Learning to help him stay on track this summer!

What is K5 Learning?!  K5 Learning has an online reading and math program for kindergarten to grade 5 students.  I've been given a 6 week free trial to test and write a review of their program.  If you are a blogger, you may want to check out their  open invitation to write an online learning review of their program as well!

ABC's Of Me!

Stealing this idea from Jo from Will The Kids Turn Out OK and Myya Says

  • Age –27...funny story...last week I forgot how old I was...for REAL forgot!  I had to get a calculator and figure it out when my sister in law asked me, haha!
  • Bed size – King!!  Husband just brought home a new bed for us two weeks ago and I LOVE having a "King Bed" now as the boys call it!
  • Chores that you hate – Laundry...mainly just putting it away...and DISHES! Thankfully I have a dishwasher now!
  • Dogs – One...he drives me nuts sometimes.  He keeps running away.
  • Essential start to your day – Just started a new routine...atkins shake and a nice 30 minute walk...I LOVE it!
  • Favorite color – I like lots of colors, but I'm weird and I like them in "pairs" or "sets".  Like I LOVE brown, lime green and baby blue, TOGETHER lol.  But I do like pink by itself...or with brown.
  • Goal – continue my morning routine after Brother is out of school, try to realize everything happens for a reason and trust that GOD knows whats best for my family.... work with both boys on their summer school things
  • Height -  5'4
  • Instruments you play – none, I used to play the clarinet though.
  • Job title – really?  Lately, I feel like I am a maid on top of being a mom and wife.
  • Kids – Brother 5, Wi-fi 3
  • Live -in a small town outside of the city...sometimes I miss the city!
  • Mother's name – Beth Ann

  • Vegetable you dislike – hmm...green beans. Brother LOVES them, but not me!
  • What makes you run late – usually myself...either over sleeping or just putting off getting the kids ready until the last minute
  • X rays –my arm.  I broke both of my wrists horse back riding one time.  and also my chest.  when I passed out at work for "no reason" they wanted to make sure I didn't have any blood clots in my lungs or anything, so they did an x-ray
  • Yummy food you make – easy...my cupcakes!  also my chicken lasagna...and chocolate covered strawberries, lol

It's Been Awhile...

So I've had a nice little break from reality...but now it's time to get back to business!!

We recently received a copy of Super WHY! Around The World Adventure in the mail.  Wi-fi was SO excited {big fans of Super WHY! over here!!}...he carried the dvd case around until it was finally rest time and he was able to watch it!  Normally rest time is my time to get house work done, but I decided to lay down with them and watch the movie too! {Loved it!!!}

I loved that the stories on this Super WHY! DVD helped the boys learn about geography, letters, and vocabulary. I also liked that it encouraged the boys to investigate the alphabet, practice spelling, and using words!

Another thing that I really liked is that since it's a PBS show...the previews  before the movie were all of PBS shows, so I didn't have to worry about the boys seeing previews for something I wouldn't want them to watch!

Reading is power and Super WHY! helps kids learn the fundamentals of reading through interactive storybook adventures!

The episodes included on this DVD were Around the World Adventure, Maila and the Magic Map, and Jasper's Cowboy Wish.

Around the World Adventure - With the help of their teacher, Whyatt and his friends have contacted a girl from another school over the computer, but they wonder where she lives. The super readers take a trip around the world with a wacky explorer name Wigglesbottom who is on the hunt for his friend Sophie. Will they be able to help Wigglesbottom find his friend, or will they be destined to travel the globe indefinitely?

Naila and the Magic Map - Pig and his friends are playing when they find what looks like an Egyptian treasure map, but they can't make out the symbols! To search for some answers, the super readers soar into the book Naila and the Magic Map and explore the world of ancient Egypt. Will they be able to help Naila unravel the mysterious code that will unlock where the treasure lies?

Jasper's Cowboy Wish - Howdy partner! Whyatt and his friends are playing cowboys, but Pig can't join in because he doesn't know what cowboys do. The super readers jump into the tale Jasper's Cowboy Wish and make the acquaintance of a cowpoke who's desperate to become a rompin' stompin' cowboy, if only he could get the hang of it! When Jasper must use his cowboy skills to save the day, will he be a hero...or will this be his last roundup?

Super WHY! Around The World Adventure can be purchased here

Here's a short clip of the DVD!  Be sure to check it out!
